Hello and welcome to Healing Ink & Art in charming downtown Waconia, Minnesota. We are a unique space that brings together a private sanctuary for all of your tattoo needs and a storefront artisan gift shop showcasing the work of 30 local artists.

Our resident tattoo artist Cheryl Rae Shohet is dedicated to transforming your personal stories and visions into thoughtful, custom body art. With a strong foundation in artistic design and a lifelong passion for creative expression, Cheryl works closely with each client to ensure their tattoo experience and results are not just what they envisioned, but something truly personal and meaningful.

Cheryl is also widely recognized for her exceptional permanent makeup techniques, creating gorgeous, effortless and beautifully soft results that enhance your natural features without looking overdone.

At the heart of Cheryl’s work is her world-class, hyper-realistic 3D areola restoration for breast cancer survivors following mastectomy and reconstruction. This highly specialized work combines Cheryl’s exceptional understanding of anatomy, color, dimension, light and shadow with decades of experience as a professional artist. Each areola is individually designed and pigments are custom blended to create remarkably natural, three-dimensional results that can be difficult to distinguish from the real thing. For the past eight years, Cheryl has provided this specialized work pro bono to breast cancer survivors. Today, she accepts insurance for qualifying restorative treatments, and community donations through our Sponsor a Survivor program help support those whose care is not fully covered. Through insurance, donations and pro bono care when needed, Cheryl remains committed to ensuring that financial circumstances alone never prevent a survivor from receiving this deeply meaningful restoration. Every treatment takes place in a private, relaxing environment with the highest standards of safety, sanitation, compassion and respect.
